NORTHWEST GUILFORD 68, GRIMSLEY 61
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford and Grimsley faced off in a Metro 4-A Conference contest that ended with the Vikings holding on for a 68-61 conference win. The Vikings were able to overcome a 2-point 1st quarter deficit to limit Grimsley to only 17 total points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The 7-point advantage that Northwest held at the end of the 3rd quarter was maintained despite a valiant effort from the Whirlies.
–Christian Hampton led the Vikings with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Dean Reiber finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Tommy Smith hit three 3’s for his 9 points. Tristan Perry added 8 points and 8 rebounds while Jacob Riddles made a huge contribution to the win with 8 points on 4 of 4 shooting from the field to go along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
–Grimsley was led by A. Flowers with 25 points while J. Williams finished with 13 points for the Whirlies.
