East Forsyth’s Tanis Samuels scored a season-high 25 points & led a withering Eagles defense to a dominant 72-44 win Friday Night at West Forsyth. Samuels’ stellar stat sheet also included five rebounds, five steals & three assists.

West, now 6-12, led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter but was limited to four points over the next seven minutes while East Forsyth opened up leads of as many as 14 points behind four steals for baskets (2 by Samuels) and 14 first-half turnovers by the home team.

The Eagles were never challenged in the second half, leading by as many as 31 points (71-40) enroute to their 13th win in 18 starts, including four of five in Central Piedmont 4A Conference play.

Ben Uloko led the Titans with 18 points & seven rebounds, but East Forsyth outrebounded the taller Titans 33-27. Josh Mahaffey added 10 points for the winners. Point guard Jimmy Nichols scored only 2 points but had 6 assists, five rebounds and only one turnover, directing another Eagles’ balanced scoring performance with 11 of their 15 scoring in the victory.

East Forsyth returns home next week for a three-game homestand (Glenn-Tuesday; Davie County-Wednesday; Reagan-Friday) before concluding it’s regular season the following week on the road at Reynolds & Davie County.
