Wrestling Collects Win At Washington & Lee Duals

LEXINGTON, Va.— The Greensboro College wrestling team competed in the Washington & Lee University Duals Monday.
The Pride fell to the host Generals 31-9 and Trine University 46-11 before defeating The Apprentice School 24-21.
WASHINGTON AND LEE 31, GREENSBORO 9
Joey Ferigne helped the Pride jump to a 6-0 lead after the Generals had to forfeit the first weight class. Greensboro tacked on one more win over the next nine bouts when Quaevon Cannon defeated Kevin Thole via decision.

Trine went up early 6-0 after winning the first bout via forfeit, but Locke evened the score after defeating Dominic Pecoraro via fall. Siu claimed Greensboro’s last victory over Trine after defeating Nevan Freestone 21-6 to earn a technical fall.

Apprentice grabbed a 6-0 lead in the first bout. Locke won the next bout via decision before the Pride suffered another loss to bring the score to 12-3. The Pride then won four consecutive bouts to take a 15-6 lead. Siu, Michael Jones, Cannon and Dudley recorded wins by decision. Apprentice was able to grab two more wins before Oropesa won by forfeit to score Greensboro’s final points.
