East Forsyth recovered quickly from a slow start after the holiday break to bury Ragsdale 59-36 in Jack Masten Gymnasium Thursday night in Kernersville. It was the seventh win in the last eight games for the Eagles & their first after winning the Pepsi bracket title in the Frank Spencer Holiday Classic last week.

An equipment infraction benched four of the scheduled starters for East at the start of the contest & the visiting Tigers took a 10-6 advantage against the EF substitutes. But East scored 18 of the game’s next 23 points over the next eight minutes to open a nine-point lead (24-15) and never looked back.

The Eagles, now 7-3, led by as many as 24 points in the second half behind solid defense and a 14-rebound advantage over Ragsdale. Savon Brintley led East with 16 points and Khaliq McCummings added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Jordan Jones led the visitors with 12 points.

East Forsyth travels to Greensboro Page tomorrow night for return game with the Pirates, who the Eagles defeated 54-49 at home in the third game of the season. The Eagles play at home Tuesday against Salem Baptist before beginning Central Piedmont 4A Conference play at West Forsyth next Friday night.
