Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Davie County Boys Basketball:Vikings start hot and finish hot out-scoring DC 20-8 in the 1st Q and 19-8 in the 4th Q(Reiber, Hampton and Boulton make NWG molten)

GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford and Davie County faced off in a non-conference match tonight at Nelson Gymnasium. The War Eagles came into the game with a 10-0 record and the Vikings were coming off a big win in the Haeco Tournament Championship Game. Northwest got off to a hot start in the first quarter, jumping up to a quick 12 point lead.

The second quarter Davie held Northwest to just 4 points and scored 16 themselves, slowing down the Vikings transition offesnse and limiting turnovers of their own. The score was locked up at 24 going into the half.

The start of the second half proved to be a back and forth scoring battle between both teams. Davie caught fire from three sparred by Griggs and Northwest leaned on Hampton and Reiber to pace their offense. The Vikings pulled away in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with a final score of 59-46.

–Dean Reiber led the Vikings with 21 points. Christian Hampton had 18 points and 6 rebounds. Robbie Boulton had 7 points as well as 7 assists. Johnny Pagano had 6 points while Brandon Thomas had 5 points and four rebounds. Khari Carson chipped in 2 points.

–Davie was led by Griggs and McCormack with 14 and 12 points respectively. Walton scored 10 points. Hendrix had 4 points while Smith, Johnson and Redmon all had 2 points a piece. .
