The Cowboys hit the road for a road conference game against the Golden Eagles of Smith.

The Golden Eagles came into tonight looking to get their season headed back in the right direction having come into tonight on a three game skid.

The Cowboys came into tonight looking to maintain their unblemished record, as well as stay unbeaten in conference play.

The Cowboys open up the scoring is an hour you dunk right off the tip. The Golden Eagles responded quickly with a basket of their own. The Cowboys were ice cold from the field. So despite for some turnovers, Southwest only managed to trade baskets in a sloppy back and forth frame. However the Cowboys were able to end the frame as they opened it, with another dunk to close the quarter up 13-12.

The poor shooting continued into the second frame. The Golden Eagles kept responding with baskets of their own. Every time the Cowboys put a couple baskets together, Smith would answer. This time it was Smith who scored before the buzzer to cut Southwest’s lead to 33-30 going into the break.

The second half had the Cowboys start to get a little more efficient on both sides of the ball. Southwest managed to slowly build a lead and maintain it. Solid defense of positions helped the margin stay in double digits as the frame closed at 54-44.

The final frame was back-and-forth as the teams traded baskets and small runs. The Cowboys made enough plays In the frame to pull away for a strong 69-55 road conference victory.
