East Forsyth rallied late to outlast Reagan 58-50 for its 11th win in its last 12 games at Jack Masten Gymnasium in Kernersville Tuesday night. The Eagles won their second Central Piedmont 4A Conference game in as many starts despite a spirited effort from the visiting Raiders, who fell to 6-7 overall 0-2 in conference play.

East built it’s largest lead of the game (21-10) midway through the first quarter, but a seven-figure scoring drought even the score over the next eight minutes. Reagan took its only lead of the game (33-30) with the three minutes to go in the third quarter but quick baskets by Zyun Reeves & Matt Rivers on the next two possessions returned the leas to the Eagles for good.

The Eagles led by seven twice down the stretch but fought off Reagan rallies late to seal the win. A steal by Ty Lyles & assist to Savon Brintley on the break with 1:30 left pushed the score to 51-47, then Reeves blocked the last of his six shots on a Raiders’ fast-break to put the game out of reach.

Reeves led all scorers with 18 points and grabbed a game-high ten rebounds to lead East while Rivers had 14 (including 8-9 FTs in the second half) & Khaliq McCummings added 11 for the winners. Clayton Crawford led Reagan in scoring with 11.

East returns to CPC play on Friday night at home against Glenn before taking its exam break next week prior to a road game at Davie County.
