Pride Women Soar Past Falcons 83-52

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women’s basketball team sailed past the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Wednesday 83-52.

Pfeiffer took an 18-17 lead into the second period before Greensboro went on a 24-3 run over the first 8:31 to take a 41-21 lead.

During the run, the Pride went 11-for-14 from the field while connecting on 2-of-5 attempts from three-point range. Katie Lewis fueled the run with 11 points while A’Liyah Woods added four points.

The Falcons then scored the next five points of the period before Makayla Williams hit a layup with 21 seconds on the clock to give Greensboro a 43-26 halftime lead.

Over the final 20 minutes of action, Greensboro continued to shoot the ball well and was able to pull away for the 31-point victory.

Woods finished with 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists to lead Greensboro. Katie Lewis chipped in 18 points while Nichelle Jeffries added 11.
