Visiting Glenn took control of the game from the opening tip, then held on late for a 62-53 win at East Forsyth Friday night to remain unbeaten in Central Piedmont 4a Conference play. The deep Bobcats, now 9-7 on the season, used 13 players in the game’s first 11 minutes & wore down the Eagles with pressure defense, as they opened up a 16-point lead at the half with a dominant third quarter.

East Forsyth, which had won eight straight & 11 of its last 12, led only briefly (11-10, 1:50 left in first quarter) but dug into the visitors lead throughout the second half, closing to within two points (51-49) with two minutes left. But Glenn’s Nathan Fuller scored all of his six points down the stretch, to secure the win for the balanced Bobcats, who had eight players with six points or more led by Tray Elbert’s 10.

The Eagles’ Khaliq McCummings led all scorers with a career-high 23 points and added seven rebounds. Savon Brintley scored 15 points for EF but sophomore center Zyun Reeves, was limited to two points and missed nine minutes through the middle of the first half with an ankle issue.

East Forsyth will not return to the court until next Friday at league-leading Davie County, as Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools have next week off from competition due to the exam break.
