HiToms to Host 16th Annual Novant Health Free Baseball Clinic March 10

HIGH POINT-THOMASVILLE, N.C. – The High Point-Thomasville HiToms’ 16th annual Novant Health Free Baseball Clinic returns to Finch Field on Sunday, March 10.

The three-hour clinic gets started at 1:00 p.m. and will feature an overview of fundamental baseball skills, including hitting, infield and outfield play, and more.

This clinic has consistently been the largest of its kind in North Carolina, averaging more than 175 participants each year.

“Our free clinic is always an exciting time of year for us as we kick off the spring season,” said HiToms president Greg Suire. “We look forward to seeing hundreds of area children join us at Finch Field as we invest in our hometown and get a chance to see some potential future HiToms right here in our backyard.”

HiToms head coach Brian Rountree will serve as the clinic’s lead instructor, assisted by other players and coaches in the HiToms organization.

Children ages 6 to 13 are invited to sign up for the clinic online at hitoms.com. Sign-ups will be available until the morning of the camp.

The clinic serves as part of the HiToms organization’s developmental system. That system features clinics and camps to children through age 13, multiple Junior and Senior American Legion teams, and the HiToms collegiate summer league team.

That development system has guided dozens of players to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level. In 2019, 33 former Post 87 HiToms will play NCAA baseball. Eight of those players competed with the HiToms of the Coastal Plain League a season ago.
