The Reagan Raiders outlasted East Forsyth 54-52 on their home floor, delivering a much-needed win to six graduating players on Senior Night. After the visiting Eagles took a 15-10 lead early in the second quarter, Reagan scored 17 of the next 22 points behind a patient offensive and opportunistic steals on defense.

The Raiders scored on their first possession of the second half to take their biggest lead of the game (33-25) but East rallied behind the outside shooting of sophomore guard Ty Lyles to regain the lead by two points on three different times early in the final quarter, the final time at 46-44 with 4:50 left.

But Savon Brintley was called for a charge on a basket on the next possession and Grant Braydon, the game’s leading scorer with 17 points, put Reagan up for good with 2 drives for baskets inside the two-minute mark to push the Raiders’ lead to four at 52-48. After a Matt Rivers FT cut the lead to 3 with 1:04 left, the Raiders; Christian Hicks scored on a rebound to seal his team’s second win in eight CPC starts.

East Forsyth, now 13-7 overall & 4-4 in conference play, completes its regular season next week with home games against Davie County (Tuesday) and RJ Reynolds (Friday). The CPC tournament begins Monday, February 18.
