College Men’s Soccer Final: Guilford 1, Shenandoah 0

WINCHESTER, Va. — Enrique Gudino scored the match’s lone goal in the 87th minute as Guilford College won an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game at Shenandoah University, 1-0, on Saturday
afternoon.

The Quakers improved to 6-6-1 and 4-1 in conference action. The home-standing Hornets dropped to 5-10 and 1-4 in the ODAC.

Gudino scored on a penalty kick at the 86:20 mark after SU committed a foul in the box. The foul resulted in a Shenandoah red card.

The Quakers led in shots (17-9) and corner kicks (7-3).

Zach Van Kampen made four saves, earned the win and played all 90 minutes for Guilford. Michael Romeo stopped seven shots and took the loss for the Hornets.

The Quakers host Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday (10/23). The ODAC match begins at 7 p.m.
