Morehead picks up their 8th win of the season in as many games with an 83-28 victory over Bethany Community School in the Battle of the Border Classic played at Morehead High School. The Panthers overpowered the Wolves with stifling defense and an equally impressive offense. The Panthers never gave up more than 8 points in a quarter and scored 70 points in the first 3 periods alone. Morehead hit an impressive 13 3-pointers with Shytiek Lampkin and Blake Byrd connecting on 3 each. The Panthers were led in scoring by Blake Byrd with 19, Jordan Sharpe had 16, with Javen Chandler and Lampkin each contributing 14. Bethany Community was led by Russ Bowers with 10, Jay Brim had 7 and Graham Crouch had 6.

In other action the Martinsville Bulldogs defeated McMichael 54-48 in the opening game of the evening. McMichael was led in scoring by Gabe Capel with 20, Jackson Kirkpatrick and Michael Lyons each contributed 11 for the Phoenix.
Action resumes on Friday as Morehead faces Martinsville at 6 pm and McMichael takes on Bethany Community School at 7:30. Play begins at 3:30 with the McMichael ladies team playing host to the Martinsville Bulldogs ladies
