Game Report on Northwest Guilford-Northside Boys Basketball:NWG Vikings hold Northside with key free throws and win 77-75/Reiber with 27 pts., Hampton with 21 and Humphrey with 11 pace Vikes scoring

NORTHWEST GUILFORD 77, NORTHSIDE 75
GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford faced off against Northside in today’s Saturday matchup of the Chance Harmon Showcase in Floyd County, Virginia.

Northwest Guilford came out poised and with a lot of intensity in this one taking the lead in the 1st quarter 26-16. Northside would fight back into the game in the 2nd quarter when Northwest Guilford would turn the ball over several times and Northside would take advantage. Northwest Guilford went into halftime up 37-30.

In the 3rd quarter Northwest Guilford would go up by as many as 16 points, but in the 4th quarter Northside would fight back into the game with some very key 3-point shooting from their guards. Northwest Guilford would hit very important foul shots down the stretch and hold onto the lead to win 77-75. The game was a hard-fought battle from both sides.

–Dean Reiber would have his 2nd straight double-double and lead the Vikings with 27 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. Chris Hampton would add 21 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Josh Humphrey added 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Jackson Hartzell had 6 points, Shaq Marsh had 5 points, Connor Ballou had 3 points along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds, Drew Watkins and Jake Kawalec had 2 points each.
