Game Report on East Forsyth-Mount Airy Boys Basketball:Timmons and Rhodes solid but East sees too much of Sizemore, Fitzgibbon and Harmon, as Bears come out of hibernation to top Eagles

Mount Airy delivered a dominating road win at East Forsyth Wednesday night, dealing the Eagles a 64-56 defeat at Jack Musten Gymnasium in Kernersville. The Granite Bears, now 7-4, avenged a 47-36 loss to East last week in which they trailed by as many as 25 points.

The winners held the Eagles without a field goal for the first 9:15 of the game & led 14-3 early in the second period. East cut its deficit to three (23-20) midway through the quarter but never got closer, trailing by as many as 14 points on multiple occasions in the second half.

Mount Airy won the rebounding battle +14 and forced the Eagles into a season-high 27 turnovers–including taking eight charges–in breaking East’s three-game win streak. Brooks Sizemore led the winners with a game-high 18 points including four of the Granite Bears five three-pointers for the game. Caden Fitzgibbons added 15 for Mt. Airy and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Jordan Timmons led the Eagles with 17 points while Brion Jones added six points, seven rebounds & five assists.

East Forsyth travels to Glenn on Friday night for its second Central Piedmont 4A Conference game of the season & plays at Mount Tabor next Monday night.
