We are going to work on some final scores from the local Guilford County basketball games tonight, and we had one game suspended due to a broken glass backboard at Grimsley High School
Playback of the game running now at GreensboroSports Radio

Game was Northwest Guilford at Grimsley boys and just as the first half clock was about to expire, Christian Hampton, from Northwest Guilford HS, was driving to the NWG basket and he went up and attempted to dunk the basketball, but he slammed the ball into the rim, and with force of Hampton’s dunk, the ball slams into the rim and with the force of that basketball coming down on the rim, the rim begins to break away from the glass backboard and when that happens the backboard shatters and the glass starts going everywhere and some even went into Christian Hampton’s eyes and the good thing is he is OK tonight, they got all of the glass shards out of his eye and he is fine, but the game will have to finished on Saturday, and they are looking at an alternative site for the game since there will not be enough time to replace the broken backboard at Grimsley, for Saturday’s game continuation….

A first for most of us tonight, a broken backboard in a high school game that forced the game to be halted and hopefully the game can resume on Saturday….
