High School Basketball Today in and around Guilford County:Grimsley vs. Northwest Guilford boys game continues today at Dudley High School and NCISAA Playoffs

The Grimsley vs. Northwest Guilford boys basketball game continues today(5pm) at James B. Dudley High School, on Lincoln Street, and the game will resume at the start of the second half, with Grimsley the home team, at Dudley…

Game was moved to Dudley, after last night’s game was halted/suspended when NWG’s Christian Hampton broke/shattered the backboard at Grimsley….The score was Grimsley 35, Northwest Guilford 24 when the game was stopped, and the score will be Grimsley 35, Northwest Guilford 24, when the game gets going again today at 5pm, at Dudley High School…The game will pick back up again at the very beginning of the second half, and we have 16 minutes/2 quarters remaining to be played…

Will be interesting to see who has and and gets that momentum going early today, after a stoppage/break/intermission in the basketball action for over 18 hours…

Northwest will have to try and overcome some of that Grimsley trapping pressure that got to NWG in the first half of the game last night, and Grimsley will need to get their foot back on the gas pedal and floor it again this afternoon when they take to the floor at Dudley HS…Northwest has been known for nailing the three-point shot, but last night the three was not going for NWG and Grimsley got a key three from their senior captain Ross Kreagar to open the contest….

Big 6’9 Dean Reiber with 3 fouls for NWG and Jaden Watlington with three fouls for Grimsley shows us the most serious foul trouble for both teams…Grimsley led NWG in their meeting at Northwest, but then the NWG took the lead late in that game, and pulled away at the end to secure the win with made free throws, due to Grimsley fouls and several of those late NWG free throws at NWG, came by virtue of technical fouls that were called on Grimsley, and there must have at least three late T’s called on Grimsley in that game at NWG…

What we are saying is this, both teams will have to get the adrenaline rushing again and work to seize the momentum, and then at the same time, maintain/keep their composure…

To my knowledge this will the first trip ever for a Northwest Guilford basketball team over to Dudley and it is not a big deal since NWG will be facing the Grimsley crowd and bringing in their own home crowd, on this a neutral court…I may be off somewhat on my history, but this may well be the first trip ever for a NWG basketball team to Dudley and it would also be interesting to see which of the two teams, Grimsley and NWG, could be the first ones on the phone to call the Dudley band, and get them to play for their team today…I saw the Dudley band playing on the road and playing for the Guilford College football team, in a game at Guilford this past fall, so you never know what a quick phone call could produce….

Game with Grimsley and NWG gets going again, at 5pm this afternoon at Dudley High School….Our game plan is to be there and broadcast the rest of this game for you on GreensboroSports Radio….Check out the rest of the game today, starting at 4:50pm, on GreensboroSports Radio..Game resume at the start of the second half, with the score, Grimsley 35, Northwest Guilford 24….The dunk attempt last night did not go through the basket and that was not a made basket on the dunk attempt, the ball came flying off of the rim….They may have to put a “DRP” on Christian Hampton, and that would be a “Dunk Restrictor Plate”, this kid can really get-up-and-go…And just kidding about the “Dunk Restrictor Plate”…All kidding aside, let the kid go and he should not change his game at all today…
