West Forsyth’s withering defense & relentless rebounding effort reversed an early 12-point deficit and ended East Forsyth”s season with a resounding 68-53 win over the visiting Eagles in the first round of the Central Piedmont 4A Conference Tournament. The win moved the Titans, winners of five of their last seven games, into the CPC semifinals tomorrow night at Reagan HS against top-seeded RJ Reynolds.

The Titans took their first lead early in the final period (47-45) after back to back turnovers by EF’s Zyun Reeves & Jalen Thorns led to run-up baskets for West, which held the Eagles scoreless for seven minutes down the stretch scoring 15 straight points to take a 56-47 lead & never look back.

Kris Mickens scored a game-high 23 points for the winners & Bralen Morris was among three other Titans in double figures with 12 points in addition to his game-high 14 rebounds including 3 of West’s five offensive rebounds for baskets in the game.
