Aggies Win Again at Club Corbett, Defeat Rival Eagles
Kameron Langley(Southwest Guilford High School) secures another triple-double.

EAST GREENSBORO – It was just another day at the Club.

Junior Kameron Langley(Southwest Guilford High School) posted another triple-double. Senior Ronald Jackson posted another monster game, and North Carolina A&T men’s basketball beat another Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) team at Corbett Sports Center.

The Aggies dominated their arch-rival from start to finish with a 77-60 win Monday night in front of a sellout crowd at Club Corbett. It was the Aggies 23rd straight win over a conference opponent at home.

“The season is a long season,” said N.C. A&T acting coach Will Jones. “We got back from Florida after losing two and so instead of coming back and really getting on the guys, I thought we just needed to get in the gym. We had to get guys feeling good about themselves. We had a tough, tough practice defensively on Thursday because that’s what it’s going to take to win games.

If we can stop teams, I think offensively things will take care of themselves.”

**********Langley had 12 points, a career-high 13 assists and 11 rebounds for his second career triple-double. Langley is the only player in the country with more than one triple-double this season. He needs just 13 assists to break the Aggies all-time record held by Thomas Griffis (582).**********

“It’s going to mean a lot,” said Langley on breaking the record. “It’s going to be a special moment for me and my family. It’s a huge accomplishment and I’m just blessed to be here.”

Senior forward Ronald Jackson poured in a career-high 28 points and hauled in eight rebounds. Junior guard Kwe Parker rounded out double-figure scoring for the Aggies with his 11 point effort.

“I’m just going out there and playing my game,” said Langley. “I believe in my teammates and we’re just out there getting the job done.”

N.C. A&T (13-14, 9-3 MEAC) led wire-to-wire, jumping right on the Eagles (12-13, 8-3 MEAC) from the jump with an 18-2 run over the first 6 ½ minutes of the game. The Aggies had their largest lead of the half after freshman guard Fred Cleveland, Jr., hit a 3-pointer to go up 37-13 with 2:56 remaining in the half. The Aggies forced the Eagles into 14 first-half turnovers and scored 22 points off those mistakes to claim a 40-20 advantage at the break.

N.C. A&T led by as much as 25, 47-22, with under 18 minutes remaining in the game. NCCU did not get any closer than 14 points for the remainder of the contest. With 3:46 left in the game, Langley grabbed a defensive rebound off of a missed shot by the Eagles to secure his triple-double.

The Aggies stifling defense proved to be the difference in the game. They held NCCU to just seven field goals in the first half and a season-low 20 points. The Eagles shot just 40 percent for the game.

C.J. Keyser scored a team-high 20 points to lead the way for the Eagles while the Aggies held preseason All-MEAC selection Jibri Blount to just eight points on 3-for-11 shooting.

The Aggies will go for their 24th straight win over a MEAC opponent at the Club with a 4 p.m., Saturday game against Howard on Feb. 22.
