Charlie Daniels told us, “Don’t Go And Lay Your Hand On A Pittsburgh Steelers Fan”:RIP CDB/Charlie Daniels, Gone at age 83

Charlie Daniels born in Wilmington, N.C. and moved to a small town in Chatham County, called Gulf…Born in Wilmington, and grew up as a teenager, in Gulf…

Charlie Daniels loved baseball, and in one of his songs, “In America”, he had one of my all-time favorite lines….”Don’t Go and lay your hand on a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan”….The song tells the story of America fighting back, and says you never did think you’d ever see it happen again, In America….

Here it is from YouTube, and if you’d like to check it out, CLICK ON BELOW….”In Amercia” by Charlie Daniels and the CDB/Charlie Daniels Band….Telling you, “Don’t Go and lay your hand on a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan”…

  1. We’re hearing a lot of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” and we have posted “In America” from the late Charlie Daniels…

Another of his tunes that I remember well from back in the early 1980’s is his tune called, “The Legend of Wooley Swamp”…

I used to hear that Wooley Swamp song on the Midnight radio show with “Crazy Jamie” Workman, on 101.1 WPCM, out of Burlington, N.C. back in those days/late nights…

I would be up grading papers or doing high school lesson plans and that song would really stick with you..

“If you ever go back in the Wooly Swamp you better not go at night, there’s things that crawl, things that jump and things that run around on the ground…And they say that the ghost of Lucius Craig gets up and he moves around….

Another song that stands/stick out from Charlie Daniels and his CDB is “The South’s Gonna Do It Again”…Very catchy tune with “The Train of Grinderswitch is running right on time, those Tucker Boys are cooking down in Caroline, people down in Florida can’t be still, when Lynard Skynard’s picking down in Jacksonville, and the people down in Georgia come from near and far to hear Richard/Dickie Betts pickin’ on that red guitar….

Elvin Bishop’s sitting on a bale of hay, he ain’t good looking, but he sure can play, there’s ZZ Top and you can’t forget, ole brother Willie’s getting soaking wet…And all the good people down in Tennessee are hearing Barefoot Jerry and the CDB…

That was, “The South’s Gonna Do It Again”, musically..
