Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists High School Football Scoreboard – Friday – April 2, 2021

Game of the Week Greensboro Sports Radio: Southwest Guilford (4-1) at Dudley (4-1) with Andy Durham.

UPDATE #5 – 11:30 PM

FINAL
Southwest Guilford (4-2) – 21
Dudley (5-1) – 42
**********Dudley’s Milan Summers with 210 yards rushing with 4 TD’s and Two 2-point conversion runs…Busy night for Summers, and he was making tackles on defense too….Scoring rundown for Dudley-SWG…
Milan Summers with a 51-yard run at 5:32 left in the First Quarter and Boateng Woodson’s PAT kick was good, Dudley 7, Southwest Guilford 0…..Southwest Guilford gets a 13-yard TD from Joey McGinnin IV to Quantez Poche, and the SWG two-point conversion run by Brandon Hopson was good, and SWG takes a lead of 8-7 over Dudley, with 4:29 to play in the First Quarter….SWG 8, Dudley 7…
Dudley comes right back with a run of 19 yards for a TD and Milan Summers ran it in for the Dudley Panthers, plus it was Summers on the two-point conversion run too, and with the work turned in by Summers, Dudley now leads SWG, 15-8, with 1:38 remaining in the First Quarter…Dudley 15, Southwest Guilford 8…..
Dudley strikes again on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Jahmier Slade to Franklin Stockton in the left corner of the end zone, and with that Dudley TD pass and the failed PAT kick, your score now reads, Dudley 21, Southwest Guilford 8….Dudley says let’s do it one more time, and that is exactly what the Panthers do, when Michael Shaw carries the football in from 2 yards out, and when you add in the Milan Summers two-point run, Dudley has taken a lead of 29-8, over the Southwest Guilford Cowboys, and the most recent Dudley TD by Summers comes with just 1:15 to play in the First Half…
Halftime Score:Dudley 29, Southwest Guilford 8
In the second half on the opening offensive drive of the half, SWG takes the ball down the field, and they get a Cowboy Connection from SWG QB Joey McGinnis IV to DeAnthony Butchee and the touchdown pass play covers 20 yards, and with the PAT conversion kick by SWG freshman Dawson Louya, our score now shows Dudley 29, Southwest Guilford 15…SWG within two scores, but the Dudley Panthers and Milan Summers are not done yet…The previous SWG TD came with 8:13 to go in the Third Quarter, and that was the opening offensive possession of the Second Half…On Dudley’s first Second Half offensive possession, the Panthers drive the length of the field and Milan Summers finds paydirt from 21 yards away, and with another Summers TD, and the PAT kick by Boateng Woodson, Dudley has grabbed a 36-15 lead over the SWG Cowboys…This Dudley touchdown and PAT kick came with 5:13 to go in the Third Quarter…
End of the Third Quarter:Dudley 36, Southwest Guilford 15
On to the fourth and final quarter we go, and it is Southwest Guilford that gets going first in the fourth…SWG gets a three-yard power run from running back Caleb Parker, and the Louya PAT kick attempt gets blocked, so SWG finds themselves down by just two scores again, 36-21, with 10:04 to play in the Fourth Quarter…Dudley 36, Southwest Guilford 21
Dudley will wrap up the night’s scoring behind another Milan Summers touchdown run, and this one would be his last of the night, as Summers goes 37 yards on the TD romp, and after the snap comes in low, holder Mehki Wall picks up the ball for Dudley and takes off trying to cash in on the two-point conversion run, but it/he is stopped, and with 7:41 to play in this high school football contest, Dudley leads Southwest Guilford, 42-21…And that is how our game would end tonight, with your final score:Dudley 42, Southwest Guilford 21
Trip Brewer and Ayden Gamble with interceptions for Dudley tonight, while both teams put the ball on the ground numerous times, but usually one the teammates on the offensive team was there to recover the loose pigskin…..SWG picked off Dudley at least two times, and those SWG interceptions went to Quincy Martin and Maurice Jones, if our notes are correct…Lots of plays in this game, and if SWG could bring back some of their first half dropped passes we might have a different game on our hands….Kyler Puckett and Uriah Gilbert very strong up front on the defensive line for SWG, but once Milan Summers got past the first tier of the SWG “D”, Summers was on his way to his Summer(s) home in the end zone…SWG got good kick return yardage from Jhmare White tonight…Brewer, Elvis Berry, and Jaylen Richmond were other strong parts of that Dudley “D” tonight…
Fine job on the run by Dudley’s Milan Summers on Friday night, and we need to close this all out by giving credit his Dudley Panthers’ offensive line up front, with Darius McClendon, Jonathan Neal, Malcomb Kennion, Jayquan Maynard, and Trevon Humphrey….Good Piedmont Triad 3-A battle between the Dudley Panthers and the Southwest Guilford Cowboys, on Friday night, at Dudley’s Tarpley Stadium……Final Score, a final time:Dudley 42, Southwest Guilford 21…..Dudley home vs. Western Guilford next week, and Southwest Guilford travels to meet the Mount Tabor Spartans….
