Guilford Men’s Golf Second After First Round of Wynlakes Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Guilford golf team, which has finished among the Top-5 in each of its first four tournaments of the season, is in a familiar spot on the team leaderboard when the opening round of the Wynlakes Spring Invitational concluded on Monday, April 12th. The Quakers are second, one stroke off the lead established by Piedmont College.

Guilford, which closed the opening round with a 6-under-par score of 282, is one shot back of Piedmont’s 7-under-par score of 281. Carnegie Mellon is third at 1-under-par with a 287, the only remaining team is under par.

The Quakers’ James Mishoe is the individual leader with a 5-under-par score of 67. He owns a one shot lead over Mario Perezcassar III and Ben Balen, both from Piedmont College. Mishoe capped off the first round with five birdies, including three on the back nine, along with 13 pars.

Jack Lee is also among the Top-10 for the Quakers, locked in a four-way tie for eighth at 1-under-par. Lee’s scorecard included five birdies as well as nine pars, resulting in a 71.

Addison Manring and teammate Louis Lambert are both tied for 12th heading into Tuesday’s second round of play at even par. Manring came through with three birdies, all on the front nine, along with 13 pars. Lambert, who also had a 72, capped off the day with three birdies and 12 pars.

Sam Davidson completes the Guilford scorecard with a 2-over-par score of 74. Davidson managed a birdie at the sixth hole along with 15 pars during his opening round.
