Elon Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes Virginia Tech to Rudd Field Wednesday

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women’s lacrosse team hosts Virginia Tech at Rudd Field on Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m.

THE SERIES
-The Hokies lead the overall series, 4-1.
-Virginia Tech won the last matchup 14-7, which took place on Feb. 22, 2020.

ABOUT ELON
-Elon comes into the game with an 8-0 (2-0 CAA) record, ranking 19th in the latest Inside Lacrosse poll and 23rd in the most recent Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Coaches poll.
-The Phoenix earned its eighth win of the season on April 11 when it recorded a 19-3 victory over VCU.
-Mae McGlynn and Gillian Curran paced the Phoenix scoring, totaling five goals apiece on the day for career highs. Margaret Stephan was the third Elon player with a hat trick, scoring three goals over the course of the game.
-Quinn Daly tied the program record for single-game draw controls (10).
-In goal, Paulina DiFatta (8-0) recorded five saves in 45:53 minutes played. Paige Brown also made an appearance in the cage in the remaining 14:07 of the contest.
-Elon is led by eighth-year head coach Josh Hexter.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
-The Hokies hold a 3-8 (0-6 ACC) record on the season.
-Virginia Tech is currently on a three-game losing streak, posting losses against #4 Boston College (21-11), #18 Louisville (13-9) and #2 Syracuse (17-10).
