Mishoe Second, Guilford Men’s Golf Quakers Third at Wynlakes Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Both James Mishoe and the Guilford golf team placed third at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate, which came to a close on Tuesday, April 13th in Montgomery, Ala.

The Quakers finished the two-day tournament with a 6-over-par score of 582, closing out the second round with a combined score of 300. Piedmont College was first on the team leaderboard with a 10-under-par score of 566, coming through with a second round 285. Carnegie Mellon leapfrogged Guilford into second, after a second round 283, closing at 6-under-par for the tournament.

James Mishoe was the top individual for the Quakers at the event, tying for second with a 3-under-par score of 141. Mishoe tallied a 74 in the second round after a first round 67.

Also, among the Top-10 finishers for the Quakers was Louis Lambert, who finished in a four-way tie for ninth. Lambert shaved one stroke off his opening round 72 to close out the day with a 71, capping off the tournament with a 1-under-par score of 143.

Jack Lee was one of three players tied for 16th with a 1-over-par score of 145. His opening round 71 was followed by a second round 74.

The remaining two players making up the Guilford scorecard, Addison Manring and Sam Davidson, placed 47th and 53rd, respectively. Manring was 9-over-par with a score of 153 for the two-day event, closing out the second round with an 81, while Davidson was 11-over-par. Davidson added seven strokes to his first round 74, posting an 81 in the second round of play.

Carnegie Mellon’s Jason Folker brought home the individual crown with a 6-under-par score of 138. Folker had the lowest final round score of the afternoon, carding a 67, en route to his win.
