The Pittsburgh Pirates called up Rodolfo Castro and he played in the second game of a doubleheader against Detroit on Wednesday, going 0-3.
He’s the first Hopper to be promoted to Pittsburgh. In 2019 he played in 61 games here(Greensboro Grasshoppers), hitting .242 with 14 homers and 46 RBIs.
He was promoted to Bradenton and in 57 games hit .243 with 5 homers and 27 RBIs.
It’s likely he will be sent down soon, but he got in his major league debut.
