Bucks offering COVID-19 vaccines to fans attending game this weekend

The Milwaukee Bucks are joining other sports entities around the United States in an attempt to get an increasing number of Americans vaccinated from COVID-19.
According to Malika Andrews of ESPN, the Bucks are offering every eligible fan attending Sunday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets at Fiserv Forum the Pfizer vaccine. Those eligible are 16 years of age or older, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has not made the vaccine available to younger individuals.

“We strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated,” Milwaukee Bucks president Peter Feigin said in a statement.
The NBA itself has acted as a solid resource for Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. At first, teams around the Association offered arenas for testing. Now that vaccines are readily available, they are doing what they can to put shots into the arms of Americans.
This comes amid a season that has had surprising success as it relates to the pandemic after the NBA finished the 2019-20 campaign in Orlando’s Walt Disney World bubble.
It also comes with an increasing number of Americans getting vaccinated. As of Tuesday afternoon, half of American adults have received at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. The goal is for everything to be back to as much normalcy as possible by the Fourth of July.
Speaking from the White House on Tuesday, President Joe Biden urged citizens to get the shots — calling it a “patriotic duty” and saying “it’s never been easier.”
It looks like the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the NBA are doing their part to make it easier.
