WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Elon University men’s tennis fell to third-seeded William & Mary, 4-3, in the semifinals of the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Championship on Saturday, May 1.
HIGHLIGHTS
– Kyle Frankel gave the Phoenix its first lead in the match with his 6-2, 6-4 victory over Brenden Volk in No. 1 singles. The win moved Frankel to 15-1 in singles play this season and extended his winning streak to seven matches.
– Nicholas Condos got things rolling for Elon, taking down George Davis in straight sets 6-4, 6-1. Condos earned his third consecutive win in the match and rounds out the year with a perfect 4-0 mark in No. 3 singles.
– Nicholas Campbell gave the Phoenix a 3-1 advantage after defeating Sebastian Quiros 6-4, 6-3. Campbell improved to 10-1 with the win and finished the season with a 7-1 record in the No. 5 slot.
– Kyle Frankel and Camilo Ponce won the lone doubles match of the day for the Phoenix after beating Lev Kazakov and Sebastian Quiros 6-1. Frankel and Ponce moved to a perfect 8-0 as a pairing this season with the win.
