CAA Names DiFatta WLAX Defensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. — The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on Monday, May 3 that Elon women’s lacrosse goalie Paulina DiFatta has been named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week. This is the third week she has won the award this season.

DiFatta (9-2) totaled 12 saves in Elon’s 16-6 win over William & Mary, just one shy of her season high. She has now finished in the double digits in saves in three consecutive games. She also led the Phoenix in ground balls, finishing the game with five for a new season best. Through 11 games, DiFatta leads the conference in both goals-against average (6.81) and save percentage (.551).

Elon will enter the CAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship presented by Primis as the No. 4 seed, facing fifth-seeded Towson in the first game on Wednesday, May 5 at Sentara Park on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
