Elon Phoenix Places Four on CAA Women’s Lacrosse Postseason Awards

RICHMOND, Va. — The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced on May 6 that Elon women’s lacrosse’s Sara Bouwman, Mae McGlynn, Quinn Daly and Margaret Stephan were named all-conference selections. Bouwman, McGlynn and Daly were tabbed second-team honorees, while Stephan was named to the All-Rookie team.

Bouwman led the Phoenix in scoring with 31 goals. She ranked eighth in the CAA in goals per game (2.58), ninth in points per game (3.50) and 10th in assists per game (.92). The attack recorded six hat tricks over the course of the season, including three five-goal games. Two came against William & Mary, while the other occurred at Coastal Carolina.

McGlynn finished the season with a team-high 22 assists and 29 goals to pace the Phoenix in points (51). She was also fifth on the roster in ground balls (16) and ended the season ranked second in the CAA in assists per game (1.83), fourth in points per game (4.25) and tenth in goals per game (2.42). The attack also set a new program record for single-game assists on March 10 against Radford (5).

Daly totaled team-bests in caused turnovers (14). She averaged 1.17 caused turnovers per game, finishing seventh in the CAA. On April 11, she tied the program record in single-game draw controls against VCU (10).

Stephan was third on the team in goals (27) while also picking up nine ground balls, causing seven turnovers and tallying five draw controls. She ended her rookie season with six hat tricks, with one of them coming against James Madison. Stephan was No. 9 in the conference in goals per game (2.45).
