Guilford Mens Golf Claims Seven Awards on Friday

FOREST, Va. – Just weeks after earning the automatic berth to the 2021 NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament the Guilford golf team earned seven individual awards from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on Friday, May 7th. The Quakers had four players named All-ODAC first team—Louis Lambert, Jack Lee, Addison Manring and James Mishoe—along with Sam Davidson earning All-ODAC Third Team honors. Additionally, James Mishoe earned ODAC Golfer of the Year honors and Quakers’ coach Adam Crawford was named Jack Jensen Coach of the Year.

Mishoe earned his third straight ODAC top player award featuring a conference-best 70.6 per round scoring average and current ranking as the #1 player in NCAA Division III by Golfstat. Mishoe finished no higher than 11th in six events competed this season. He won the Savannah Invitational after posting a 13-under 203 (65-67-71) and added a second individual medal at the Jekyll Island Invitational at 8-under 208 (70-69-69). He tied for second at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate at 3-under 141 (67-74). Mishoe carded a 6-under 66 in the final round of the ODAC Championships in an attempt to catch leader and eventual medalist Hunter Martin from Hampden-Sydney, only to come up one stroke short and chime in as the runner-up at 4-under 212 (73-73-66). He and Martin were the only players to finish under par for the championship.

Crawford enjoys his first ODAC top coaching honor in his third season guiding the Quakers program. Guilford captured its ODAC-best 18th championship trophy at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center, marking its first conference title since earning back-to-back crowns in 2017 and 2018. The Quakers enter the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships as the second ranked team in the country by Golfstat. They trail only Methodist University on a list that features a top-five composed of all South Region schools.
