Saturday Great Day for Caldwell Academy Student-Athletes

Saturday, MAY 8, was a GREAT DAY for CALDWELL STUDENT/ATHLETES as their Varsity Baseball & Girls Soccer teams advanced to the STATE 2A SEMI FINALS. ( NCISAA 2A FINAL FOUR ) in each of the following sports.

The varsity baseball team (seeded # 3 in the WEST) upset the # 2 seed Westschester Country Day School by the score of 4-1. Sawyer Black picked up his fourth(4) win of the season on the mound.. Luke Elmore pitched the final three innings to earn his ninth(9) save of the season. The team will play the # 1 seed from the EAST, Wayne Country Day (16-2) , in the state semi- finals on Tuesday, MAY 11 .

The varsity girls soccer team (seeded # 2 in the WEST) defeated the # 6th seed, Burlington Christian Academy, by the score of 5-2. Isabella Rocque scored three goals, with one goal each from Wynn Bradley & Maggie Koenig. The team will play the # 1 seed from the EAST, St. Thomas More Academy (12-2-0) in the state semi-finals on Tuesday, MAY 11.
