Ex-Hopper Cody Poteet threw seven shutout innings for the Miami Marlins Sunday and picked up his second major league win.
Poteet pitched here in 2016 and had terrible luck. He made 24 starts, 117 innings, 108 strikeouts, 2.91 ERA and only a 4-9 record to show for it.
Cody Poteet was a 4th-round draft pick out of UCLA in 2015. After Greensboro, he bounced around in the Marlins’ system for several years until he was called up from AAA earlier this month. He’s now 26 years old.
