Greensboro Grasshoppers 3, Wilmington Blue Rocks 0
WP:Quinn Priester(2-2)
LP:Cole Henry(1-2)
Hold:Colin Selby(2)
Save:Austin Roberts(2)

HR:GSO Matt Frazier with a Solo Home Run in the 5th inning…It was Frazier’s second HR of the season, and his RBI total went to 7 RBI….
Hoppers’ hitters:Frazier 1-3/2 BB’s/HR/Run/RBI….Jared Triolo 1-4…Aaron Shackleford 1-2/2 BB’s…Fabricio Macias 0-4/Run…LoLo Sanchez 1-2/Double/2 BB’s…Grant Koch 1-3/RBI…Francisco Acuna 1-3/Double/BB/Run…
Rocks’ hitters:Jacob Rhinesmith 1-3/BB…Yasel Antuna 0-3/BB…Omar Meregildo 1-3/BB…Kyle Marinconz 1-4…Gilbert Lara 1-3/BB…Brady Lindsly 0-2/BB…

Hoppers’ starting pitcher Quinn Priester goes five innings, gives up 0 runs on four hits, with 1 BB and 3 K’s…Excellent starting pitching tonight from Priester…Priester only allowed 5 Blue Rock base runners, with the four singles and a walk…After Priester, then in comes Colin Selby for the Hoppers and he gives up 0 runs on 0 hits, with three BB’s and 3 K’s…Selby just allowed three base runners, and those were the Rocks that reached on the Selby walks…Priester the Win, Selby the Hold, and then in comes Austin Roberts to earn the Save…Selby went two innings for the Hoppers and Roberts did the same…Roberts worked the eighth and ninth innings allowing 0 runs, on 0 hits with one walk and four strikeouts…

Working as a relief combo, Selby and Roberts gave up 0 runs and 0 hits, and along with starter Priester, the three Hoppers’ pitchers for Tuesday evening, turned in a stellar overall nine inning performance….Again that bullpen really shined on Tuesday, in not allowing a single hit, and giving up the four walks, but in the end, striking out seven(7) Wilmington batters over their four innings of work….

On offense, the Hoppers did leave 9 runners on base, and six of the nine runners were left in scoring position…But the Hoppers all-around pitching more than made for any lapses at the plate and on the bases, on Tuesday evening….

The Wilmington Blue Rocks starting pitcher Cole Henry worked five innings, just like the Hoppers’ Priester, but Henry gave up three runs on three hits, with five walks and five strikeouts….Henry allowed the Matt Frazier homer from the Hoppers…From the Blue Rocks bullpen, Alex Troop came in a gave up 0 runs, on two hits, with 2 BB’s and 2 K’s…..Troop entered the game with a (3-0) record(in relief), having struck out 12 batters without giving up any walks for his entire first three games, on the hill for Wilmington….Troop exits tonight’s game now with 14 K’s and 2 BB’s, on the young season…..

The Hoppers’ pitching staff was near flawless on Tuesday night, with the exception of the five walks the staff gave up…But when you add in the 10 strikeouts and the fact that the pitching staff only allowed four singles by the Blue Rocks, this was one of those good nights for the Greensboro Grasshoppers pitching staff…Great work turned in by them, on this Tuesday night…..
