Macias, Mlodzinski, McGough, and more Hoppers:He’s a Magic Man Mama, on Sunday night at First National Bank Field(Grasshoppers top Blue Rocks, 13-0)

The song from Heart says it best……..
Try, try, try to understand, he’s a “Magic Man”, Mama, ah
He’s a Magic Man…

(CLICK BELOW for the Heart video.)

Carmen Mlodzinski got it all going for the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday night at First National Bank Field, as Mlodzinski worked five innings on the hill for the Hoppers, throwing hitless baseball and only allowing one base runner…Mlodzinski went five innings giving up no runs, no hits, he walked one Wilmington Blue Rocks batter and he struck out eight Rocks…Near-perfect baseball from Mlodzinski, and he earned the win on Sunday night, his first of the season…

Later in the game, a game which the Greensboro Grasshoppers won, 13-0, Trey McGough came on and worked/pitched three innings of one-hit baseball for the Grasshoppers, as McGough gave up no runs, on the one hit, and he walked one man and McGough struck out three Blue Rocks…

Oliver Garcia worked the final inning of the contest to complete the overall one-hit shutout effort for Greensboro, and in the ninth inning, Garcia got the Rocks, three-up/three-down…No runs, no hits, no walks and no strikeouts for Garcia, just two pop-ups, and a fly out…..

So the Hoppers’ pitching staff throws a one-hit shutout, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers win the game, 13-0, and now for the other Magic Man on Sunday, from First National Bank Field, home of the Hoppers…

Mlodzinski was Magic Man on Sunday…McGough was a Magic Man on Sunday, and let me tell you something else, Fabricio Macias was a Magic Man on Sunday, at First National Bank Field…

Macias was such a Magic Man that he made the baseball disappear not once, but twice on Sunday night…The ball really did disappear, and it was really like Magic for Macias

Fabricio Macias connected for not only one, but he connected on two Grand Slam Home Runs on Sunday night…..Macias got a Slam in the sixth inning, and then he followed up that Grand Salami with another Grand Slam Home Run, in the bottom of the seventh inning…

Two Grand Slam home runs in the same game, and in back-to-back innings for the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ right fielder, Farbricio Macias….Eight runs driven in for Magic Man Macias on Sunday night….Eight RBI in one game, boy that is a bundle…

Macias was feeling and dealing with the Magic on Sunday night…More Magic came the Hoppers way from Aaron Shackleford, who hit his seventh HR of the season, on a blast to right-center field….Macias hit one of his home runs to dead center field, right at 405 feet, and his other HR went to right-center field, traveling an estimated 370 feet….

Two Grand Slams from Macias, a Magic Man Show for sure, with those two baseballs literally disappearing into the air….Magic Man kind of night from Shackleford too….Shack’s homer helped the Hoppers put together that 7-run, seventh inning…

Then you have to pass the Magic Hat on to Jared Triolo as well…Triolo really gave the Hoppers all the runs they needed, with Mlodzinski, McGough and Garcia hurling the shutout, Triolo’s solo Home Run in the bottom of the third inning, gave the Greensboro Grasshoppers a lead, that would stand up the entire game…Triolo with his solo HR and his 15th RBI of the season…

Macias’ two Grand Slam home runs pushed his RBI total to 15 on the year, and Shackleford joined Triolo and Macias in the 15 RBI Club, after he clubbed his seventh HR of 2021, and his three-run homer pushed his RBI number to 15…

Plenty of offense on the night, with Hoppers pounding out 11 hits, and plenty of pitching, as the Hoppers’ pitching staff only allowed the one Blue Rocks hit….

It was some kind of Magical night, on Military Appreciation Night, at First National Bank Field…It is not all that often that you see a team get a shutout these days, let alone a shutout, where the home team wins 13-0….
