Greensboro Grasshoppers 6, Greenville Drive 5…1O Innings
WP:Oliver Garcia(3-0)
LP:Zach Bryant(2-2)

Hoppers(25-19)/Drive(23-21)

Hoppers' line:6-9-1
Drive' line: 5-7-1

Hoppers’ hitters:Fabricio Macias 2-4/2 RBI…Aaron Shackleford 1-4/HR/HR #13 for the season and RBI total now at 33…Jared Triolo 1-4/HR/HR was #5 for the season and his RBI total went to 30…Chase Murray 1-4/HR/HR #2 of the season for Murray…Hoppers with 3 Solo HR’s on the afternoon…LoLo Sanchez 1-3/BB…Kyle Wilkie 1-4/Run…Francisco Acuna 1-3/HBP…Matt Gorski 1-5/Run/RBI…Matt Gorski with the Game-Winning RBI, in the bottom of the 10th Inning…

Matt Frazier 0-5/Run, and Frazier was 1-10 over the past two games, but he found a way to score the Game-Winning run in the bottom of the 10th Inning, when he was placed on second base, as per Minor League Baseball rules in extra-innings, as the man who made the last out in the ninth inning, becomes the Automatic ‘man-on-second’, as you begin the 10th frame…It can help change the course of the game, and it did today, as the Hoppers took advantage of the ‘man-on-second’, and Matt Gorski brought/drove Matt Frazier home, to give the Greensboro Grasshoppers(Pittsburgh Pirates) the win, over the Greenville Drive(Boston Red Sox)….

Fabricio Macias was the only Greensboro Grasshopper with multi-hits on the day, and his two singles helped him run/raise his batting average up to a team-leading .331, on the season….And Macias’ two RBI for the day, now gives him 33 RBI for the year, and he is tied with Aaron Shackleford in that department/category….

Matt Gorski drives in Matt Frazier to allow the Greensboro Grasshoppers to claim the victory over the Greenville Drive, in ten innings, on Wednesday afternoon….Interesting that eight different Hoppers were able to pick up hits on Wednesday afternoon, and the only man who did not get a hit, Matt Frazier, he scored the game-winning run….

The Greenville Drive took an early 2-0 lead in the baseball game, as the Drive plated two runs in the top of the fourth inning, on a two-run, two-out home run from Tyler Dearden…HR #6 on the season for Dearden…The Hoppers pushed across one run in the bottom of the fifth inning(Jared Triolo solo HR), to cut the Drive lead to, 2-1…

The Grasshoppers got a two-run single from Fabricio Macias to take a 3-2 lead over Greenville in the bottom of the sixth inning..The Hoppers added one run in the seventh inning on Chase Murray’s solo home run to right field, and the lead over Greenville grew to 4-2…Another solo home run off of the bat of Aaron Shackleford in the eighth inning and the Hoppers appeared to be in great shape, now leading the Greenville Drive 5-2, going to the top of the ninth inning…

Then in the Top of the Ninth Inning, Greenville touched up the Hoppers’ reliever Austin Roberts for three big Drive runs, including a two-run, two-out home run from Nick Sogard to right field, and a solo home run off of the bat of Kole Cottam, to left field…

Now the Hoppers and the Drive were tied at 5-5, and the Hoppers were looking up off of the mat, and calling on the Matts for help going to the bottom of the tenth inning…The Hoppers’ pitcher Oliver Garcia, came in from the bullpen, walked on Greenville Drive batter, but he struck out Brandon Howlett swinging and he got Kole Cottam looking for another strikeout, and Gracia got Will Dalton to popup to Jared Triolo, at third base, to set up the Matts(Matt Frazier and Matt Gorski) and their late game-saving heroics, and the Hoppers were looking up from the mat….

Garcia(3-0) earned the win, and Greenville’s Zach Bryant(2-2) took the loss, and now the Hoppers and the Drive will press on toward their next meeting, Thursday night’s 6:30pm game at the First National Bank Field…
(Garcia picked up/earned the Wednesday Win, by going one inning(the 10th) and gave up no runs, on no hits, while walking one Drive batter, and he struck out two Drive batters.)
