John Cena is opening several new chapters in his life, as he married Shay Shariatzadeh last October and will soon debut in the Fast and Furious franchise. But the 44-year-old doesn’t want to completely leave the past in the past.

Cena vaguely (as are all his Instagram posts) posted the WWE logo in May, which immediately sparked rampant speculation that he may reunite with the Vince McMahon-led enterprise. While virtually joining The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (June 23), Cena confirmed fans’ wildest dreams.

“Those rumors are true,” the 13-time WWE Championship winner said. “I’ll definitely be back to the WWE. I just don’t know when.”

Cena then specifically addressed his Instagram post: “So, I posted that back in May. I was feeling rather nostalgic about the WWE, and I just wanted to post the logo, and some people took it as I was returning immediately, which that’s not the case. But I haven’t had my last match, and I can’t wait to have my next one.”

In the meantime, Cena will star as Jakob in F9: The Fast Saga—Jakob is Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Mia Toretto’s (Jordana Brewster) brother who has returned to confront his brother after decades of estrangement—and Peacemaker in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

F9 is debuting in U.S. theaters TODAY (June 25), and The Suicide Squad is expected Aug. 6.

Away from the silver screen, Cena is co-hosting TBS’s rebooted game show Wipeout with comedian Nicole Byer. He also told Fallon filming is in progress for Peacemaker, a forthcoming HBO Max series and The Suicide Squad spinoff.
