Greensboro Grasshoppers 4, Asheville Tourists 2
WP:Bear Bellomy(6-2)
LP:Danny Cody(1-3)
SV:Oliver Garcia(6)

Hoppers(34-24)/Tourists(25-32)

Hoppers' line: 4-7-0
Tourists' line:2-6-2

Triolo with HR #6 for the season, and his RBI total went to 35…Matt Gorski with HR #9 and he now has 33 RBI…LoLo Sanchez with HR #8, and he now has driven in 23 runs…

Solid outing by the Greensboro Grasshoppers’ Bear Bellomy on Friday night, as the right-hander came in and he worked two strong innings, giving up no runs, on one hit, with no walks, and Bear struck out five Asheville Tourists batters…Bellomy gave the Hoppers’ bullpen a big ole ‘Bear Hug’/lift, and he steadied the team’s course and got them back on track…Bear would be in line for the Hoppers’ Player of the Game for his efforts on Friday night….The Bear was out there battling, and it was evident to his teammates that he was bearing down and going all-out for the home team, on Friday night…

Closer Oliver Garcia also was strong in the later stages/innings of the game…Garcia, like Bellomy, worked two innings, the eighth and the ninth, and Garcia gave up no runs on one hit, he walked one batter, and Garcia produced four key strikeouts, to allow the Hoppers to close out the game, without an overthrow threat from the Asheville Tourists…

The Hoppers’ pitching staff, with starter Grant Ford, newcomer Cameron Junker, along with Bear Bellomy and Oliver Garcia, all four combined to strike out 18 Asheville Tourist batters, and the Hoppers staff only allowed five walks on the night…

Bellomy with win #6(6-2) and Garcia with save #6, and both are holding up their end of the bullpen….

The starting pitcher for the Asheville Tourists, Danny Cody, showed signs of his pitching expertise on Friday night, as Cody struck out eight Hopper hitters, and he only walked one Hopper through his five innings of work, but of the four hits that the Hoppers got off of Cody, three of four hits were homers/home runs…For Cody, allowing three runs on four hits, and three of those four hits were home runs….

The three Hopper solo homers, coming from Sanchez, Triolo, and Gorski were big, but the Greensboro Grasshoppers sure needed that big boost that they got from “The Big Bear’, and the entire Hoppers bullpen on this Friday…After the shellacking that the Hoppers’ pitching staff took on Thursday night, allowing 13 runs, on 17 hits, and giving up those five home runs, the effort the Hoppers got from their entire pitching staff, was a welcome relief on Friday night…
