Dudley High School 7 on 7 Passing Tournament Ends Early Due to Lightning in the area:Dudley, Southwest Guilford, Mallard Creek and Chambers(Vance) make it to the Semifinals

We were at the Dudley High School 7 on 7 football passing tournament today, and we got a chance to see some LIVE high school football, at Dudley’s Tarpley Stadium…

The 7 on 7 Tournament ended early, due to lightning in the area, and with a lightning strike within six miles of the game site, you have to wait at least thirty minutes, before you can play again, or resume action, and there were at least two lightning strikes detected in the area of James B. Dudley High School, and Tarpley Stadium, and that would put the 7 on 7 football games behind at least one hour, and with this happening, and that being the case, today’s football was cancelled during the semifinals…

The Semifinals were featuring teams from Guilford County(Greensboro/High Point), and from Mecklenburg County(Charlotte)…

From the Greensboro/High Point area you had Dudley High School and Southwest Guilford High School in the semifinals, and from Charlotte you had, Mallard Creek and Chambers(Vance) in the semifinals…It was Dudley vs. Chambers(Vance), and Southwest Guilford vs. Mallard Creek….

Dudley HS assistant coach and tournament director Brandon Anderson talked with us about having to shut the games down early, and he also discussed how it is to organize and run one of these BIG 7 on 7’s and Coach Anderson also shared his thoughts about the upcoming 2021 James B.
