Hickory Crawdads rough up Greensboro Grasshoppers on Tuesday night at First National Bank Field:Andres Alvarez helps out the Hoppers

Final from Tuesday night at First National Bank Field:
Hickory Crawdads 15, Greensboro Grasshoppers 3
WP:Justin Slaten(4-6)
LP:Grant Ford(6-2)

Hoppers(49/30)/Crawdads(36-43)

Dads' line: 15-12-1
Hoppers' line: 3- 7-4

Hoppers’ hitters:Matt Frazier 0-3/BB…Jared Triolo 2-4/Double/2 RBI…Blake Sabol 1-4…Aaron Shackleford 1-4/HR…Matt Gorski 2-4/Double/Run…LoLo Sanchez 1-4…Grant Koch 0-3/BB/Run…
Shackleford’s HR was his seventeenth of the season and RBI #44…Jared Triolo with two RBI, taking his total to 57 RBI, for the season…
The four errors by the Hoppers defense hurt the Hoppers’ chances for winning on Tuesday, and the six walks from the pitching staff didn’t help matters either….The Hoppers’ pitching staff also allowed five home runs on Tuesday night, and the staff as a whole was off on Tuesday…

The pitching staff did get a boost, when position player Andres Alvarez came in to pitch, and was able to take down two Crawdads, and record two big outs from the mound in the eighth inning, and then when Alvarez came back out, and worked the ninth inning, he gave up NO runs on one hit, and overall for his one and two-thirds innings of work, Alvarez walked none, and struck out one Crawdad…By the speed of his pitches, he looked like he might have been throwing some knuckle balls, as a few of the Alvarez pitches were coming in there at 58 mph…..
