When the Chicago Bears drafted Justin Fields with the No. 11 pick, many NFL fans and draft analysts believed the team landed its quarterback. The confidence and excitement are even higher after his preseason debut.

Andy Dalton opened the game as the starter as head coach Matt Nagy continues to stick by his promise. But the football world tuned in to watch Fields put his talents on display. After a few drives, Chicago finally got to witness its future at quarterback.

As Fields put on his helmet and prepared for his first snap, Twitter erupted with football fans from across the country elated the moment finally arrived.

Chicago’s offense got off to a slow start as the rookie settled in. But when the Bears returned from the halftime break, Fields brought Soldier Field and NFL Twitter to elation with one highlight after the next.

Fields was 4-of-4 for 54 yards and then ran for an 8-yard touchdown to cap the drive.

Trailing 13-10, Chicago called upon its new face of the franchise once again to take over the game. Sure enough, Fields needed only seven plays to cover 70 yards, and he ended the drive with his first touchdown pass in the NFL.
