Grimsley is loaded with QB Alonza Barnett III and his corp of receivers including Tyson Resper, Alex Taylor, Tyrell Anderson, and Nolan Albright….Barnett III has learned to see the entire field, and he will have to be very careful, as he faces Reagan on Friday night…Tamorye Thompson, the big Jarrett kid, Khalil Stimpson and others have that Grimsley defense primed and ready….Dave Polaski will have this game for you on 600 AM…
Northern Guilford(1-0) at Smith(1-0)
Battle of two Guilford County Unbeatens from Week One…NG with their QB Smith, RB McGinnis, WR Timmons, WR Elliott, and lots of other weapons…Smith focusing heavily on WR Darius Cross….If Smith wins this game, it won’t be quite as shocking as last week’s opening win, but it would still be pretty wild to see Smith at (2-0) to begin 2021…
Page(0-1) at Reidsville(1-0)
For some reason, I think this game will be tougher for Page than the Dudley game…Page must continue to establish that ground game, and Trevon Hester, can help them there…But it won’t all be Hester, he will get help from PJ Thompson too, at RB…Page is getting better, but it will an upstart surge to get past Reidsville, at Reidsville..Page head coach Doug Robertson knows Reidsville well, he coached them to a State Championship, a few years back, up there at his old high school, in Reidsville…Nick Williamson will need to run a near-perfect show for Page, at QB…The Blackwell kid at WR and DB could continue to become a freshman phenom for Page..
Providence Grove(0-1) at Southern Guilford(0-0)
For Southern Guilford, I will put this game in the hands of their QB Jamias Ferere, the 6’5/180 pound sophomore…This kid will have to be ready to run this Storm team…His older brother, Jameir Ferere, at 280 pounds, will provide blocking up front for his brother…Rydell Herbin is a hard-nosed RB/LB for Southern, and the Storm need the experience that he brings to the table…
High Point Central(0-1) vs. High Point Andrews(0-1)
This one is for the “Battle of High Point”, and this game always draws a good crowd…Not sure about all of the parts of these two teams, but from what we saw coming out of last week, I would give the early edge to Central….At Simeon Stadium, in High Point…
Northwest Guilford(0-1) at North Davidson(0-1)….Game moved to Saturday night at 7pm
Game moved to Saturday night to let North Davidson have an extra day to get back from some COVID issues….NWG was able to throw the ball last week, with sophomore QB Tanner Ballou going to his receivers, Bristol Carter, Trent Cloud and Sowards…NWG could move the ball to some degree through the air vs. East Forsyth, but NWG had no success whatsoever in their attempts to run the ball vs. East Forsyth…NWG has to get that running game going, in order to be successful overall…
