High School Football Friday Night Finish:Southeast Guilford loses a player and Dudley loses a player, but Dudley wins the football game(Thoughts on other games)

Southeast Guilford lost their starting quarterback Ryan Stephens Friday night, and Dudley lost their wide receiver Mehki Wall, but Dudley still was able to win the football game…

SEG’s Ryan Stephens had to leave the game after a horse collar tackle, and we’re not sure whey Wall left out for the Dudley Panthers, but once Wall was gone, he did not return, and the same can be said for Stephens from SEG…

Wall was running and catching the ball well, and then he was gone…Stephens was running the ball real well, and then came the horse collar tackle and Stephens was done…

Dudley got the win over Southeast Guilford, in a very hard fought game on Friday night, down at the Bill Slayton Athletic Field.(SEG campus)..

The Panthers take the contest, 28-9, and Dudley was on the board first with a thirty-yard touchdown pass from QB Jahmier Slade to Mehki Wall…The extra point kick was blocked and Dudley leads Southeast Guilford, 6-0, with 10:41 left in the first quarter…

With 3:56 to go in the second quarter, SEG’s QB Bryson Serrano hits his WR Cam Williams on a pinpoint pass that Williams had to go up and pull down, from in-between two defenders, and Williams did the rest, running the ball in from 45 yards away for a SEG TD, and with the Aiden Bonde kick, SEG takes a 7-6 lead over the Dudley Panthers…

Dudley strikes again, just before the end of the first half on a 10-yard pass from QB Slade to RB R.J. Baker, and after Slade’s two-point conversion run, Dudley is back on top, 14-7, with 22.8 seconds left to play in the first half…

In the third quarter, Slade goes in for another score on a 10-yard TD run, and with the Slade two-point conversion added on, Dudley now is in front of Southeast Guilford, 22-7, with 8:42 to play in the third quarter…

Dudley cashed in again, when R.J. Baker takes a punt return back 55 yards for an Dudley Panthers’ TD, and the two-point conversion pass fails, and with 3:21 to go in the third quarter, Dudley is on top of Southeast Guilford, 28-7…

The final scoring of the night comes when SEG defensive lineman Alex McCalop tackles the Dudley runner in the Panthers’ end zone for a safety, and Dudley holds a 28-9 advantage over SEG, and that is how our final score ends up, Dudley 28, Southeast Guilford 9….

Our offensive Player of the Game for the Dudley Panthers was QB Jahmier Slade….The Dudley defensive Player of the Game was Logan Wright…Our Southeast Guilford defensive Player of the Game was Alex McCalop…Our Southeast Guilford offensive Player of the Game was Cam Williams…

Dudley’s Jahmier Slade goes 11-21 passing for 176 yards, with 2 TD passes, and one Interception..Mehki Wall had five receptions for 111 yards and one TD…Nasir Newkirk caught 2 passes for Dudley, for 42 yards…SEG was 8-14 passing for 109 yards…Bryson Serrano was 5-8 for 75 yards for SEG, and he had one TD pass…Ryan Stephens goes 3-6 passing for 34 yards…Stephens had 6 carries for 37 yards for SEG, while Cam Williams had 2 receptions for 51 yards…

Aiden Bonde was impressive as the SEG punter, and he had at least two punts that were inside the Dudley 10-yard line, and one of his punts was out-of-bounds inside the Dudley five-yard line…Bonde out-kicked the punt coverage once, and that is when R.J. Baker took off on that 55-yard punt return for a TD for Dudley….

Dudley now (2-0), and Southeast Guilford begins their season at (0-1)….Dudley at Durham Hillside(1-1) next Friday night, and Southeast Guilford back home again, to hook up with the Smith Golden Eagles(1-1)…..

The Grimsley Whirlies rallied to beat WS Reagan, 21-19…Grimsley senior quarterback Alonza Barnett III completed 19 of 33 passes for 215 yards with two touchdowns…RB Jeiel Melton scored the other Grimsley touchdown on a short run….Grimsley did all of their scoring/damage in the second half at Reagan….Reagan led Grimsley, 12-0, at halftime…Grimsley(2-0) at unbeaten Pinecrest(2-0), next Friday night…

Smith, 62-6…Northern Guilford(2-0), at Eastern Alamance(0-1) next week…Page battled, but ended up on the losing end at Reidsville, Rams over Pirates, 42-13….Page(0-2) at home vs. Mount Tabor(1-1), next Friday night….
