Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins will miss the entire 2021 season with a torn ACL. Now the franchise needs someone to fill the void with only Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Ty’Son Williams on the roster.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport provided an update on the situation Monday, reporting that the Ravens could give Todd Gurley another look before the regular season opens next month.

Gurley visited the Ravens in June, but no deal was worked out. However, that was when Baltimore had a healthy backfield. Now, his services could be seen as an asset in the coming weeks.

Losing Dobbins this close to the regular season is a rough hit to the Ravens’ rushing attack that was the best in the NFL last season. In 2020, Baltimore was top in the league in rush play percentage, yards per carry, rushing yards per game and third in rushing touchdowns per game.

Gurley, who was once considered the best running back in the NFL, most recently played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, rushing for 678 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 3.5 yards per carry. He would be a solid addition for the Ravens, who need him now more than ever.
