Here are a few late-arriving scores for tonight, and we have added these to our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Scoreboard for you…Western Guilford 33, Northeast Guilford 26…Eastern Guilford 47, Ragsdale 0…High Point Andrews 19, WS Parkland 6…North Raleigh Christian 38, Bishop McGuinness 14…Another real tight one tonight/Friday was Eastern Randolph 8, Burlington Williams 6…

Some of those names that I was hearing tonight on the Friday football shows at FOX 8(Friday Football Frenzy), and WFMY TV 2, with their Friday Football Fever were, Bryson Moore(Western Guilford HS), and Jayden Evans(Eastern Guilford HS)….

We will have lots more names popping up in here this evening, and into the early morning hours….

Road win for the Grimsley Whirlies tonight, as they take down Pinecrest, down in Southern Pines, with the final of Grimsley 28, Pinecrest 14….Grimsley now (3-0), and Pinecrest falls to (3-1)…Southeast Guilford(2-1) at Grimsley, next Friday night in the Metro 4-A Conference opener for both ball teams…

Tonight/Friday night on GreensboroSports Radio we saw Southeast Guilford at Southern Guilford, and the SG Storm led early, in fact, at the end of the first quarter, the score was Southern Guilford 7, Southeast Guilford 0….But, SEG would go on to score 38 unanswered points, to win this contest, 38-7…

SEG got going/rolling in the second quarter, as Bryson Serrano matched what Jamias Ferere did for the SG Storm, back in the first period…Ferere ran in for a touchdown on a 9-yard scamper, and with the Decory Covington kick, the Storm led 7-0, with 2:34 to play in the first quarter…Serrano scored on a 6-yard run, and with his TD take, SEG adds the Aiden Bonde PAT kick, and the game is all knotted up at 7-7, with 11:51 left in the second quarter…

The game is at 7-7, and Southeast Guilford is just getting warmed up…The Falcons would go on to score two more first half touchdowns and they would add in a Bonde field goal, and SEG took a 24-7 lead into the halftime stanza…

Bryson Serrano hooked up with Mark Tillman for the second SEG TD in the second period, and that touchdown came on a 25 yard pass from Serrano to Tillman and after another Bonde PAT, SEG leads SG, 14-7…This SEG TD came with 6:56 left to go in the second quarter…Then Bonde got a chance at a 37-yard field goal attempt and he nailed it with room to spare, and at 4:34 to go in the second frame, SEG now leads SG, 17-7…

The last SEG TD before halftime came on a Nick Caldwell 8-yard run into the end zone, and Bonde makes it 3-3 on his PAT’s, and SEG moves out in front over Southern Guilford, 24-7, with just 50.2 seconds left on the second quarter clock…

Halftime:Southeast Guilford 24, Southern Guilford 7

The big play man for Southeast Guilford all night long was Cameron/Cam Williams…Williams made four outstanding receptions, good for 98 yards on the night, and his upfield play, was spectacular at times. Williams is some kind of athlete…

At halftime, SEG’s Aiden Bonde was 3-3 on PAT kicks, he had one field of 37 yards, he executed a perfect on-sides kick that SEG recovered, and he had three kickoffs that were good for touchbacks…Bonde ended up going 5-5 on his PAT kicks, and he also had a punt of 44 yards that pinned SG back deep in their own territory, in the second half…Bonde’s leg got a little bit tired in the second half, and you could see it on his kickoffs, but he was still kicking the ball down inside the SG 10-yard line every time he kicked off…Quite the night by the SEG kicking weapon, Aiden Bonde, and more on him later on…

Now let’s get back on the SEG-SG second half trail…Jeremiah Royster hit the end zone on a one-yard run with 9:41 left in the third quarter, and with his fourth made PAT kick of the night, Aiden Bonde and Southeast Guilford had taken a 31-7 lead over the Southern Guilford Storm…

Royster had one big play/run left in him, and Royster runs for 33 yards and he hits paydirt, to put SEG ahead 37-7, with 8:45 to play in the fourth and final quarter…The Falcons call on Bonde for one more PAT kick, and he comes through to make our score now, SEG 38, SG 7….And that is how we ended the game on this Friday night:Southeast Guilford 38, Southern Guilford 7…..I think Bonde’s leg might have been getting worked out hard, because he would kick and make an extra point, and then he would have to turn around and kickoff…

Some key stats on the night…from Don Tilley, with our GreensboroSports Radio team…

Report on the Grimsley Whirlies from the News and Record, and Joe Sirera…
The Whirlies force six interceptions and senior quarterback Alonza Barrett has a hand in all four touchdowns.

After giving up a touchdown late in the first quarter, Grimsley scored twice in a span of 3 minutes, 8 seconds in the second quarter to go up 14-7. The Whirlies looked to be heading to halftime with the lead and a chance to build on that advantage when they received the kickoff to open the second half.

But Pinecrest’s Naihjiir Seagraves returned a squibbed kick to the Grimsley 22 and the Patriots scored five plays later to make it 14-14.
