Western Guilford(1-1)/Jackson(0-3)…WG touchdowns:Two each for Abasai Carmona and Daniel Williamson, one WG TD for Elijah Riddick…Western scored with 4:19 left third quarter to go up, 22-14…WG scored with 2:57 left 3rd Q to lead 30-14…WG scored again with 6:25 remaining in the contest, to lead Jackson, 36-14…And that was our final score, WG 36, Jackson 14…WG got a big second half interception/pick from Jayden Hudson…Caleb Moore with some big runs on the day, and especially in the fourth quarter for Western Guilford…..
**********We welcome the new head coach for the Western Guilford Middle School Tigers, coach Nick Williams…I played on the first-ever Guilford Middle School football team, and our head coach was Roger Brooks, and our assistant coach was Rick Edwards….I think both of those men are still alive today…Some good days back on the old Guilford Middle School field, and the old field is now new, but it looks good/great these days too….***********
(I think we went (4-3) during that first-ever year of football at Guilford Middle…We never had a losing season, in the old Guilford College community…Never played for a losing football team….Guilford Optimist, Guilford Middle, Western Guilford HS, Liberty Baptist College, now Liberty University…Losing football was never tolerated in my old football files…Not sure why, but we did not have losing seasons, and we hardly ever lost many games…Would like to get and wish that record for a few of our teams today….You, know.)
