High School Football Steak n Shake Players of the Week from the games on (10/8/2021)

Who do you like this week, with picking one player for Offense and one player for Defense…..The Steak n Shake Players of the Week, from last Friday night’s games, and previous winners are not eligible again this week, but we will still continue to look at their numbers…On offense you have several possible choices, with Nolan Albright from Grimsley, Jack Mercer, from Northern Guilford, Grant McNeil, from Northern Guilford, Jordan Farmer, from Southeast Guilford HS and many more…On defense you might want to lean toward Jerron Blackwell, from Page HS, or maybe Jhyheem Pittman, from Dudley HS, or Solomon Howell, from Eastern Guilford HS…We have plenty of names listed for you, and will be adding in more, if we see more popping up…Just list your choice in the Comment Box below, or send the name you would like to see win to, andy@greensborosports.com….And again, we have a list of the Weekly Winners for this season, all listed down below….

Here is a late edition, from the Tuesday night game…HP Central over Northeast Guilford…
Zion McCoy(High Point Central High School)- 21 carries 240 yards –

Alonza Barnett III(Grimsley HS) with 5 TD passes and one TD run..vs. Ragsdale going 14-18 for 215 yards, good for 5 TD’s and Barnett threw his first interception of the season vs. Ragsdale…For the 2021 season, Barnett is 103-167, good for 1,712 yards, with 24 TD’s/1 INT., plus his completion % is at 61.7%…..Add in 324 yards rushing for Barnett, with 5 more TD’s on the ground…2,036 Total Yards for Barnett and 29 Touchdowns overall on the season….
Nolan Albright, from Grimsley with 3 TD receptions…Albright with 5 receptions for 93 yards receiving, and the three TD catches for the Whirlies, vs. Ragsdale….Three of his five receptions, went for TD’s….

Trevon Hester(Page HS) with 12 carries for 123 yards and 4 rushing TDs…For the season Hester with 105 carries for 719 yards and 15 rushing TD’s…
Grady Sherrill(Page HS) with 5 receptions for 95 yards, and one touchdown….
Nick Williamson(Page HS) goes 8-for-12 passing, for 112 yards, and one TD pass for the Pirates, vs. Western Guilford HS..
Jerron Blackwell(Page HS) on defense with 5 Total Tackles and all five were Solo Tackles….He caused two fumbles, had a QB Sack, plus intercepted a pass and took it back 28 yards for a Touchdown…Not a bad overall defensive game right there…
Adonis Payton, from Page HS, with 6 Total Tackles vs. WG, plus he had one Sack, and one Tackle for a Loss…

Jahmier Slade, from Dudley HS with 4 carries for 73 yards and one TD on the ground, plus he was 4-7 passing for 129 yards and a TD passing, for 202 total yards, for Dudley vs. Northeast Guilford HS..He also had a two-point conversion run for Dudley….
R.J. Baker, for Dudley HS vs. NEG with two carries for 102 yards and two TD’s, plus he had 2 receptions for 74 yards and one TD receiving…Four touches and 176 yards and three TD’s for Rory Baker…Four touches and three TD’s, that’s pretty crazy right there…Now 10 Total Touchdowns on the season, for Baker…
Logan Wright(Dudley HS) with 5 Total Tackles, and 2 Tackles for a Loss, plus a Sack, and a QB Hurry vs. Northeast Guilford HS…
Jhyheem Pittman(Dudley HS) with 5 Total Tackles, and 3 Tackles for a Loss, plus a Sack, and a QB Hurry vs. NEG…

Jack Mercer Northern Guilford HS, was 9-of-16 passing, for 88 yards with a TD pass, and he had 13 carries for 104 yards, and 2 TD’s on the ground…Very balanced night for the NG QB Jack Mercer….Will have his seasonal stats updated soon…192 yards and three TD responsibility for Mercer, vs. Northwest Guilford HS…
Jordan McInnis(Northern Guilford HS) with 21 carries for 187 yards and 2 TD’s…
Let’s put the kicker in here on offense for Northern Guilford HS and they had Grant McNeil going 2-for-2 on his field goal attempts, plus he was 6-for-6 on his PAT kicks.
On defense for NG you had Ishmel Atkins with a blocked punt…Benjamin Bluitt had an interception, and Jaton Harris intercepted a pass for the Nighthawks…Louden Peters recovered the blocked punt in the end zone, for a Northern Guilford touchdown…..

Elijah Davis(Southeast Guilford HS) with 28 carries for 141 yards in a win by SEG over Southwest Guilford…Big night rushing for Davis….
Bryson Serrano went 9-14 passing for 113 yards and one TD through the air, for Southeast Guilford over Southwest Guilford…
Jordan Farmer, from Southeast Guilford HS, with 72 yards receiving(6 receptions) and 80 yards on one kickoff return, plus he had three total tackles and an Interception vs. the Southwest Guilford Cowboys…

Tyreik Boyd(Eastern Guilford HS) goes 9-10 passing for 151 yards and two TD’s vs WS Atkins…
Jaiden Evans(Eastern Guilford HS) with 101 yards rushing on 7 carries, and two TD’s vs. WS Atkins…
Solomon Howell(Eastern Guilford HS) with 5 Total Tackles and 4 QB Hurries vs. WS Atkins…
Braxton Veiga(Eastern Guilford HS) with 10 Total Tackles and 2 QB Hurries vs. WS Atkins…

Tanner Ballou(Northwest Guilford HS 16-30 passing for 153 yards with one TD pass, and two INT’s…Season going for 109-195, for 1,575 yards with 16 TD’s/13 INT’s…Completing 56.2% of passes…
Trent Cloud with 7 receptions for 88 yards for NWG..

Jaiden Carr, from Smith HS goes 4-7 passing for 85 yards with a TD pass and 1 INT..

(We will have open voting for our Players of the Year, and then we will take the top four vote getters in the Final Voting, and have our GreensboroSports.com selection panel choose the Players of the Year, from the four finalists in each of the two categories, offensive and defensive POY’s.)

  15. I’ll take the kid from High Point Central on offense and Blackwell from Page on defense.
    Would also like to take time to give credit to the kid from Northern Guilford that did the kicking. McNeill is who I believe it was. He did an outstanding job for Northern Guilford in their win over Northwest Guilford.
