RALEIGH, NC. – High Point finished 12th on Sunday of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate as HPU finished up their weekend in Raleigh and their second tournament of the calendar week. The Panthers were led by Christian Castillo, who fired a collegiate career-low round of 5-under 67 in the first round then had a 78 in the second round responded by shooting a 72 in the third round. Castillo had four birdies on Sunday en-route to his tied for 25tth place finish. Gregor Meyer recorded three birdies on Sunday in the third round and moved up to end the tournament tied for 29th as he shot a 71. The Panthers shot a round of 294 and 293 in the second and third rounds of the tournament as a team finishing with a total of 876.

Brady Gregor: “Not sure if this was a post-win slump but last week we had 4-5 guys with their best stuff and this week we had 1-2 that played well each round to help us hold on. That’s golf and we got our piece of humble pie so now it’s back to work.”

Round 3

Castillo responded to his uncharacteristic second round with an even third round which saw him have four bogeys but he matched that with four birdies. He finished tied for the 25th a final total of 217 as he was +1 for the tournament.

Meyer was the second Panther finisher, he finished the weekend +2 and tied for 29th helped by his 71 in round three.

Charlie Barr was the third Panther on the leaderboard finishing tied for 60th. Barr had a big second round shooting a 69. At the end of yesterday, Barr was on pace to finish the second round three-under and did just that. On Sunday, he matched his total from the first round finishing with a 77. Barr had four birdies in the third round but also had four bogies, a double bogey, and a triple bogey.

Avery Price finished the weekend tied for 68th he was one over on Sunday shooting a 73. Stuart Fuller placed 76th as he went seven over and shot a 77.
