(All games set for 7:3pm kickoffs, unless otherwise noted.)

Page(4-4/4-1) at Grimsley(8-0/5-0)
This will be our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week, you can catch the game on GreensboroSports Radio, with our Sprinkle Oil pregame show at 6:50pm and then the opening kickoff coming your way at 7:30pm…All of this for you on
GreensboroSports Radio…Grimsley with Alonza Barnett III at QB and Jeiel Melton at RB, plus Terrell Anderson, Tyson Resper, Alex Taylor, and Nolan Albright at receiver…A loaded Grimsley offense…Page with RB Trevon Hester(The Big Load), QB Nick Williamson, WR’s Grady Sherrill, Devontay Deloatch, and Jerron Blackwell…We will also see Blackwell at QB and on returns….
Hester with 864 yards on 134 carries and 16 touchdowns…6.4 yards per carry running the football this season…
Melton with 822 yards on 124 carries, with 8 TD’s…13 receptions for 237 yards…
Barnett is 103-167 passing for 1,885 yards, with 27 TD’s/2 INT’s…
Williamson with three TD passes last week for Page…Blackwell scored four touchdowns last week for Page vs. Northern Guilford…Blackwell is one of the top young athletes in our area….Travis Shaw returns for Grimsley this week, and with Shaw, Tamorye Thompson and Jamal Jarrett, that is one of the most imposing defensive lines in the state…Stimpson and Watkins at LB, plus Clyburn at DB, and Grimsley has a defense that can put the clamps on you…Page on defense is almost a mirror-image of their offense with Trevon Hester, Paul Thompson, Jerron Blackwell, Adonis Payton, and Devontay Deloatch, all seeing time on offense and defense…

Grimsley has the edge in a lot of different areas, but Page is a much-improved team from what they were back in the Spring of 2021…And Page is much more than just Trevon Hester….Williamson with his passing, Deloatch winning receiving wars with defenders, Blackwell being an athlete…Grimsley will benefit in getting Travis Shaw back this week…He provides leadership that can take his team a long way forward in key games…And this will be a key game tonight…A lot on the line in the Metro 4-A Today/tonight…

Was talking about some of the old games from Grimsley-Page/Page-Grimsley back on Thursday….I remember a night back in 1999 when Grimsley topped Page in the regular season for the first time in nearly 20 years, and the Grimsley head coach on that Friday night was, Barry Stewart…Had not thought about Coach Stewart and his Whirlies teams, for a long time….A kid named Ron Crawford was the big back for Grimsley on that night…Grimsley also had receiver named Ron Harris, who was a very solid athlete….A couple of later games of interest in the 2000’s came when Donald Moore Jr. had the same field goal twice, and hit it both times for the game-winning three points in Page over Grimsley…Gavin Segall-Abrams kicked a similar game-winning field goal for Grimsley a year or two later, and Segall-Abrams had to kick his twice, due to a penalty, and when backed up five yards, he still nailed the game-winner…The game-winner by Kirk McGuinn for Grimsley over Page in the playoffs, back in 1987 is still yet another one of those game-winning kicks that was one-for-the-books…

Who knows what will we see tonight, but the electricity will be so thick in the place, that you can probably cut it/slice it with a knife…

Western Guilford(1-6/0-5) at Northern Guilford(8-0/5-0)
A must-win game for Northern in their quest for the Metro 4-A regular season title/conference championship…These two guys, QB Jack Mercer and RB Jordan McInnis are big factors for the Nighthawks…Mercer on the season 82-137 for 1,563 passing yards with 27 TD’s/6 INT’s…McInnis sits at 913 rushing yards on 109 carries with 10 TD’s..Receiving 15 catches for 227 yards/2 TD’s…Then you add in Terrell Timmons, Manny Elliot, Vance Bolyard, Zion Crawford and the entire NG defense, and I don’t see how Western has a chance to win this game….NG must leave out all of the Grimsley talk, until they put this WG game in the books…
Just a few of those NG defenders for you….Benjamin Bluitt, Jay Underwood, Ishmel Atkins, Austin Flippen, Nkwenti Achina
Louden Peters, Jack Gooch, and Connor Lachesky…..

Southeast Guilford(5-3/3-2) at Northwest Guilford(4-4/2-3)
A nice matchup here, and if SEG can win their last two games, with tonight at NWG, and then next week, at home vs. Page, SEG has a shot at a playoff spot…Take your shot and win a spot…Passing edge to NWG with sophomore QB Tanner Ballou at 117-206 passing for 1,765 yards with 18 TD’s/13 INT’s…Trent Cloud(616 yards/8 TD’s) and Bristol Carter(535 yards/6 TD’s) favorite receivers…SEG looks to have a edge in the running game, with Elijah Davis coming on real strong for SEG in recent weeks…Davis with 331 yards and 7 TD’s in the month of October(3 games)…A real good battle would showcase Xavier Simmons who plays offense and defense for NWG, and Alex McCalop, who does the same thing for SEG…Simmons and McCalop both with 8 rushing touchdowns each, on the season…Both college recruits for their defense…Leave it to the kickers, Aidan Bonde(SEG) and Cameron Tippett(NWG) to settle this game..

Southwest Guilford(3-5/1-4) at Ragsdale(1-7/0-5)
Looks like too much SWG in this one…Joey McGinnis IV, Cam McCain, and Darius Hairston…These three are the ones we talk about every week and they need to be lethal again this week for the SWG Cowboys…Not much at all going Ragsdale’s way this season, and the Cowboys are ready to ride tonight…

Southern Guilford(3-5/2-3) at Dudley(7-1/5-0)
Got to be fearing way too much Dudley in this one….Appears to be another one of those 56-0 type games for the Panthers…Southern has some great kids, but they are out-sized, out-sourced, and out-horsed in this one…Running clock at the start of the second half if Dudley keeps the gas pedal down in the first half…Slade, Wall, Shaw, Baker, Newkirk, Morehead, pick your poison…Dudley’s starters may end of up not playing in the second half of this game…Southern has some athletes, but not on the level of those from James B. Dudley High School…

Smith(3-5/2-3) at Eastern Guilford(6-1/5-0)
These four kids, start the engine up for Eastern Guilford….QB Tyreik Boyd, RB Jaiden Evans, WR/KR Kyhair Lundy, and LB Braxton Veiga….If these four team leaders are right, it is going to be a long night for the Smith Golden Eagles…EG can not afford to slip up in this game at Tommy Grayson Stadium, because the ‘Cats have Dudley, the Panthers, coming to Gibsonville next Friday night…No room, or time, for EG to slip up, or let up in this game..

Rockingham County(3-4/2-3) at Northeast Guilford(1-7/1-4)
NEG hit the win column for the first time this season, last Friday night, and after Rockingham fell to HP Central back on Tuesday, NEG realizes that The ROCK is within their scissors sight…NEG trying to make it two wins in a-row…

High Point Central(3-5/2-3) at WS Atkins(1-6/1-4)
Central should be primed to run hard at the Atkins Camels in this one…Central has an outside chance to finish this season at (5-5) and if so, that ought to get their coach a few votes for Coach of the Year….Central is now playing in Prime Time, not Central Time, and the Bison are ready to run….

Southlake Christian Academy(0-6/0-1) at High Point Christian Academy(3-4/0-2) 7pm
This looks like one of those big wins for Coach Sam Beasley’s High Point Christian Cougars…HPCA should be in a mood to take off and leave The Lake behind in this one….
