Once again, news is swirling around town that the ACC is looking to relocate their headquarters.
Cities up and down the East Coast are interested and are rolling out the GOLD Carpet. The ACC Officials and Member School officials will be wined, dined and may be even their pockets lined (thanks to NYC Mayor Candidate Curtis Sliwa for that phrase).
If the ACC HQ moves, they will be honored and celebrated for a year. Later, they will find themselves as the step-child of that city as the city moves to get the next “star”.
In Greensboro, the ACC HQ is a big thing. The City Council and County Commissioners work with the ACC with their requests; they rarely are denied reasonable requests.
If they leave, they will lose that appreciation and respect.
