BELMONT — Tyson Riley set a new Gaston County single-game rushing record Friday night, going for 372 yards and five touchdowns in South Point’s 41-31 Class 3A first round playoff win over Eastern Guilford.

Solid night for the Eastern Guilford offense:Eastern Guilford quarterback Tyreik Boyd was mighty productive, completing 20-of-26 passes for 309 yards and two scores. Teammate Khyair Lundy hauled in both of those touchdowns passes. Lundy had eight catches for 186 yards and gained five yards in the running game. Running back Jaiden Evans also had 104 rushing yards and a score.
